  • Auto-play interrupts other media

Apparently the people who coded this think that I want my music or audiobook interrupted every time I scroll past a video while. Guys, people listen to other things while also browsing reddit, figure that out.

Reddit is great if you’re a liberal they will downvote anything conservative. Really Reddit is a mouthpiece for the Democrats.

  • New video is extremely annoying to use

I’ve been using this app for years. It’s not perfect, but it’s fine. But recently I updated and the video player has changed in such a frustrating way that I had to come write this review. 1) when you try to pause the video, it frequently sends the video to full screen instead. 2) pause button now in a whole new place in the full screen, making it even harder to pause. 3) to get to the comments on a full screen video post, you can’t just swipe down (which takes you to the next post inexplicably) but you have to click a white nondescript button in a strange place on the side; 4) when you read the comments on a video post, the back arrow suddenly disappears, so when you want to leave the post, you have to click back to the video, making it go auto full screen again and start playing even though you already finished the video 5) frequents when you’re reading the comments, the video will inexplicably start playing again—to stop it, you have to swipe up (which sometimes causes my phone to swipe up to settings), which is annoying, and leads to the natural response of swiping back down instead of clicking the comments button (leading to the annoying swiping to the next post); 6) when you leave the post, even if you paused the video on the post, it plays again on your home feed. Overall, these are all just minor inconveniences but that combined make video posts so annoying now. I don’t understand why Reddit had to change the video posts. It’s easier to just click on a button to make them go full screen and play the video WHEN I WANT IT TO rather than changing the entire interface to be more annoying to use just to accommodate the auto full screen thing and auto play thing it’s got going on now. I liked this app better than Apollo but I’m honestly this close to changing my mind due to this stupid clunky new video interface!!
  • A site filled with degrading and lowkey bullies

You should return back the upvote system where you can see vote the upvotes and the downvotes. A lot of people keep misusing this upvote system and would even downvote everything public in your profile. Or maybe even better if you copy what YouTube did: hide the downvote number while maintaining the upvote number. This site is getting filled with so much toxicity as well. Those people that are obviously hateful that I reported doesn’t seem to get banned.
  • A whole different type of fun!

Reddit app has been declining for a long time. I’m glad I found a better alternative in Apollo. Check it out, you won’t regreddit.
